Bazaar Ramadhan Malaysia Hall

Just now I finally went to Malaysia Hall at High Street, Prahran for the first time since I moved here. There are bazaars on every Saturday for the whole month of Ramadhan at the parking lot area.
Went there at 2.45pm and I think there were about 80 people at that time including vendors altogether.  I didn't take any photos inside cuz.. I don't know I just felt slightly embarrassed if I take out my camera and start snapping haha. But I did manage to take a picture of the building once I was done.

And this is what I bought at the bazaar. I didn't get to plate it nicely and take a nice photo of it. By the time I was done reheating the food, it was time to break our fast.

nasi kerabu melbourne

Chicken Nasi Kerabu. Very aromatic and fulfilling.

Also bought some keropok lekor.. amaze balls!

Razz had lamb beriyani with papadam. He was annoyed when I took this pic cuz he tak tahan wanted to eat already (---_---) !

Met few Melbourne Uni and RMIT students there who were also the organizers. Very nice people. It's nice to meet other Malaysians here once in a while.

Flat Sunday

Woke up early this morning. Thought of going to the South Melbourne market today but there's just something about the weather that makes me want to just lay back in bed and enjoy snuggling inside the duvet just a little bit longer...

The Esplanade tram stop at St Kilda
This picture was taken few days ago when I did my last blood test. A couple of months back hubs insisted that I should get a pre-natal blood test to see if my body was ready to get pregnant. 6 tubes of my blood were taken to check a lot of things. They checked my sugar level, folic acid, iron, signs of hepatitis and other things I can't really remember. Everything was fine except that I didn't have enough Vitamin D and there was no trace of rubella vaccine in my body. Us girls have to take two shots in your lifetime. One when you're a newborn and another one when you're 15 years old. I skipped the second part cuz at that time I just recovered from chicken pox. I'm pretty sure I took the first one when I was a newborn, I've seen the medical report somewhere. But since everything was in KL and it's just so troublesome to ask my mom look for it cuz we moved houses and all, I thought why not. Lets just jab me those two shots, kay doc?

But it's not like you take two shots at one go. No no. After one shot, you have to wait another month for the second one. If you don't follow this rule, there a high chance you'd become a rubella monster.

Okay that was a joke. Truthfully, I don't know what will happen but I'd rather follow doctor's advice and wait for another couple of months just to be safe right?

And guess what... Just like 5 mins ago when I was writing this, doc just gave me a call and said my vaccine is settled and I can start trying now!

Omg. Alhamdulillah.. It's been such a long painful wait....

Ok bye! gonna look for my hubby now!!!

Lol just kidding! I think Im gonna get my period in few days time and there's no way I can pregnant within this timeframe no?

Anyway, the purpose I wrote this post was to tell you guys how boring and gloomy the weather has been and I cooked this for lunch today.

Pad See Ew or Kuey Teow Goreng

I used the instant sauce I bought from Woolies few days ago and man it's just soo de-lish-us!!! I've tried making the dishes from scratch but somehow they never turn out like the real deal. So I'm so grateful Woolies have started selling this. Now whenever I get cravings for Pad See Ew, I don't have to pay $12.50 for take outs. I can do it at home!!!!!!!

Okay I think I'm a little bit overwhelmed with the news and I'm just this happy birdie dancing around in the living room. Hope you enjoyed this entry and see you guys sooooonnnnaaah!

P/S: Happy Mother's Day to all of you beautiful mothers out there!!!

Where to get moulds for Malaysian's kuih muih

Hi everyone,

Today I'd like to share with you some stuffs I bought for my cooking missions. These are moulds that are used to make some of Malaysian's favourite traditional savoury delights such as karipap/curry puffs, roti jala/soft net pancakes, kuih loyang/honeycomb cookies and kuih bakar/baked cake. I have already made roti jala and kuih bakar with the moulds but did not take proper photos for the blog but I have uploaded them on my instagram. Click on the hyperlink to visit my page at instagram and let's connect, ok? Sounds good? Cool, now let's talk about the vendor.

Initially I was looking for a curry puff mould in the internet and man.. it was really hard to find it. I found few blogs that were selling this but I wasn't really impressed with the price and the cost of the shipping. So I continued searching and searching.. typing in keywords in english and malay.. then boom it led me to this facebook page RNZ Kitchenware Trading. It's a retail shop located at Sungai Buloh, Selangor in Malaysia and the prices weren't too bad...

1. Curry Puff mould 8cm : RM2.90
2. Curry Puff mould 10.5cm : RM3.90
3. Roti Jala mould : RM 4.90
4. Kuih Loyang mould : RM 16
5. Kuih Bakar mould : RM 15.90
Total : RM43.60

Shipping cost to Melbourne, Australia : RM52

So in total I paid roughly about AUD$32.00 for five items. They gave me the small curry puff mould in blue to me for free as I decided to get it after I paid. I believe it was just RM1.90 per unit. The price and shipping cost were great but the only drawback is that they don't have Paypal services for customers to make payment. Lucky for me I still have a Malaysian bank account that I can use to transfer funds locally. But if you're still interested to purchase their items, give them a message on their Facebook.

I'd guess that's all for now. Hope this post is helpful if you were looking for the moulds. Have a pleasant day and I'll see you in my next post. Bye! :)
